Free child screenings for lead poisoning offered in October

The Houston Department of Health and Human Services will offer free lead poisoning screenings for children throughout October at numerous locations across the city.

Children between six months and 6 years of age will be eligible for the screenings. For more information, call 713-794-9349.

Screening sites, dates and co-sponsors are:

West End Health Center, 190 Heights - October 3, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Southwest Health Center, 6441 High Star - October 4, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Magnolia Health Center, 7037 Capitol - October 8, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Lyons Health Center, 5602 Lyons - October 10, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Looscan Elementary School, 3800 Robertson - October 11, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
