My Brother's Keeper Houston

My Brother's Keeper Houston improves future outcomes for our youth and children. This translates to better economic conditions for families, access to quality education, improved health outcomes, a well-trained workforce, greater access to resources, and safer neighborhoods.

We offer food access and education programs, including diabetes education and management, farmers markets food access, senior nutrition programs, WIC, charitable feeding, and food manager and handler education.

Fresh vegetables

Get Moving Houston Urban Gardens

The Get Moving Houston Urban Gardens provide hands-on experience in vegetable gardening and urban agriculture to community members and encourage the consumption of local fruits and vegetables.

Houston Wastewater Epidemiology

We monitor wastewater throughout the city of Houston to detect the presence of germs that cause communicable illnesses like COVID-19, influenza (the flu), and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Senior Services (60+)

The Harris County Area Agency on Aging is part of a nationwide network of agencies coordinating supporting services for adults 60 years or older and their caregivers. We help with benefits counseling, caregiver support, info referrals, intervention services, links to services, long-term care ombudsmen, and nutrition programs.
