Houston Health Department, District H Council Member Castillo to host a women-focused health fair

HOUSTON -  In observance of Women’s History Month, the Houston Health Department and District H City Council Member Mario Castillo will host a Women’s Health Fair, Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center, 6402 Market St.

Participants will receive information about the department’s family planning services, including contraceptives, health education, counseling and pregnancy diagnosis and breast and cervical cancer screening. 

The department will provide referrals for families and seniors needing social services. Participants will receive eligibility screenings for preventive health services and Medicaid benefits.

Information about the health department’s Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services, the Diabetes Awareness & Wellness Network (DAWN) program, asthma services, and health and dental clinics will be available for families.

The free health fair will have Spanish-speaking staff available for women and families needing translation. No registration is needed.
