The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) will sponsor an expo targeting grandparents and other family members who care for children, seniors or ill relatives.

Organized by HDHHS’ Area Agency on Aging, the Grandparent Caregiver Service Expo is set for Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the United Way of Greater Houston, 50 Waugh Drive.

The expo will provide information and onsite enrollment in public and private health care plans and in a variety of senior services offering assistance with food, in-home care, prescriptions and other medical needs. Participants will also receive legal assistance including information and counseling about wills, advance directives and conservatorships.

The event will offer participants onsite child care, lunch and door prizes.
