The Houston Health Department WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program highlights the overwhelming benefits of breastfeeding this August, National Breastfeeding Awareness Month.
State and national policy makers will gather at the Building Bridges conference to discuss new developments in long-term services and support initiatives for older adults and people with disabilities.
"Healing Energies," an exhibition of art created by people with severe disabilities, will be on display at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray, from July 18 to August 16. Display hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) announces walk-in registrations will be held at various WIC locations from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on selected Saturdays during 2002 for the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC).
