    The Calmer Life program may help you with worry and stress. Connect with community resources and healthcare providers to assist you with everyday needs. For ages 50 or older. No-cost program. No mediation necessary. Choice to include religion/spirituality. One-on-one sessions are offered in convenient locations and by telephone.

    Functions as an one-stop shop to serve anyone needing assistance with completing applications for health service programs. Eligibility for Houston Health Department Health Centers can be determined on-site. Provides application completion for Harris County Financial Assistance ProgramTexas Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Healthy Texas Women program.

    Get Moving Urban Gardens

    The Get Moving Houston Urban Gardens provide hands-on experience in vegetable gardening and urban agriculture to community members and encourage the consumption of local fruits and vegetables.

    Harris County Department of Education Compton Head Start provides comprehensive services to low-income children ages 3-5 and their families. Prepares children for success in schools through an early learning program.     The parenting classes by The Cradles Project are supportive outpatient resource for pregnant or new mothers, through the Behavioral Health Center for Women and Children. Services are tailored to each woman’s unique situation. Participants are eligible to attend parenting groups at no charge that are developmentally-appropriate and modified for families affected by substance abuse.
